Commissioned by Louis and Samuel Sachs, 43 East 10th Street was designed by architect Richard Berger in 1891. It has been home to William Wood & Company, New York's second oldest publishing house, and Lovell, Coryell & Company, which published works by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Jules Verne.
