More about this marker. For clarity: there is a nearby house called "First Bampfield House" at 4325 Bampfield Street, which is also a historical building (although it bears no plaque). Mrs. Bampfield didn't like the first house. Go figure.
Regarding Bampfield Hall 1872. Restauranteur and stockbroker James Bampfield built this house in 1875. His son James Bampfield Jr. was involved in bringing electricity to Niagara Falls. The house stayed in the family until 1969; it is now a bed-and-breakfast.
