Bronzi e marmi del Giambologna
Nell'attuale allestimento sono esposte sculture del secondo Cinquecento, per la maggior parte provenienti da giardini e fontane. Fra queste, la serie degli uccelli in bronzo 2 dalla Grotta del giardino della villa medicea di Castello - opera di Giambologna (1529-1608), Bartolomeo Ammannati (1511-1592) ed altı artisti suscita grande ammirazione per il sensibile naturalismo con cui sono ritratti i diversi esemplar Giambologna, dicunl Bargello conserva sculture monumentali (nella Sala di Michelangelo e nel Cortile) e piccoli bronzi (Sala dei bronzetti), ่ autore anche dei due Putti pescatori in bronzo, che omavano una fontana del giardino del Casino di San Marce 3 4 Dello stesso artista ่ pure l'elegante Architettura marmorea 5, uno dei suoi modelli pi๙ celebri di figure femminili, replicato anche in bronzo, in scala ridotta I rilievi Tra i rilievi esposti sulla parete di fondo si segnala l'Ebbrezza di No๋ 6, di Baccio Bandinelli (1493-1560), particolarmente accurato nella rappresentazione dei nudi. Sono invece ispirati afla mitologia il rilievo con Pan e Olimpo 7 riferito a Pierino da Vinci (1529-1553 1554) e quello con Diana e Atteone 8 attribuito a Francesco Mosca, detto II Moschino (c. 1523-1578), che trae dalle Metamorfosi di Ovidio l'episodio della favola in cui Atteone si trasforma in cervo per aver visto Diana nuda.
Giasone Chi accede al Verone dalla scala esterna viene accolto dall'imponente quanto elegante scultura del Giasone 9 capolavoro della maturitเ di Pietro Francavilla (1548-1615), che fu collaboratore del Giambologna. Eseguita per il palazzo di Giovan Battista Zanchini in Via Maggio (oggi palazzo Ricasoli), l'opera rappresenta una delle testimonianze pi๙ significative della scultura manierista a Firenze.
The elegant loggia (Verone) covered with cross vaults faces onto the large courtyard of the palazzo. With the transformation of the Bargello into a prison at the end of the 16th century, this part was closed off and divided into cells until the 19th century renovatic, which restored the building to its original structure, embellished with fourteenth-century style mural decorations. Numerous coats of arms of the podesta decorate the walls, including the marble one of Milanese Amico di Donato della Torre 1 (1431), attributed to Luca della Robbia (1400-1482), a rare work thanks to its material and quality.
Giambologna's bronzes and marbles In the present-day display, sculptures from the latter half of the 16th century are on display, mostly deriving from gardens and fountains. Amongst these, the series of bronze birds 2 from the Grotto of the garden of the Medicean Villa of Castello-the work of Giambologna (1529-1608), Bartolomeo Ammannati (1511-1592) and other artists-arouses great admiration due to the sensitive naturalism via which the vanous species are portrayed, Giambologna, whose monumental sculptures are preserved in the Bargello (in the Room of Michelangelo and the Courtyard) as well as his small bronzes (in the Room of Bronzes), is also the author of the two bronze Fishing Cherubs that adorned a fountain in the garden of the Casino di San Marco 3 4 Also by the same artist, the elegant marble Architecture 5, one of his most famous models of female figures. also reproduced to a smaller scale in bronze.
The reliefs Worth noting among the relief works on the bottom wall is The Drunkenne of Noah 6 by Baccio Bandinelli (1493-1560), who was particularly accurate in portraying nude figures. The relief of Pan and Olympus 7 attributed to Pierino da Vinci (1529-1553 or 1554) is inspired by Greek mythology, likewise the one of Diana and Actaeon 8 attributed to Francesco Mosca, known as "II Moschino" (1523 ca-1578), which portrays the episode from the Metamorphoses by Ovid in which Actaeon is transformed into a stag after having seen Diana nude.
Jason Whoever accesses the Verone from the external staircase is met by the impressive and elegant statue of Jason 9 masterpiece of the mature period of Pietro Francavilla (1548-1615), who was one of Giambologna's collaborators. Originally executed for the palazzo of Giovan Battista Zanchini in Via Maggio (now Palazzo Ricasoli), this work is one of the most significant testimonies to Mannerist sculpture in Florence.
