Here was born Garibaldo Cepparelli, painter and poet, who early confirmed his native genius, born among the free Valdelsan hills, in the discipline of art. Triumphing over adversity, drawing auspices and promises for his country, he was remembered here with the applause and affection of fellow citizens and proud old men.

Excerpt: "Garibaldo Cepparelli born in Siena in 1860, was an Italian landscape painter active between the 19th and 20th centuries. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Nicolς Canicci initially guided him in the creation of the first landscape portraits that Cepparelli copied from life in the countryside of San Gimignano. The privileged subject of his paintings are floral compositions, although he also treated the ancient and modern genre."
