1. Chiesa di San Francesco Marker
Inscription. La chiesa era originariamente dedicata a San Giovanni e dipendeva dall'ordine gerosolimitano. E' attribuibile ai primi del XIII secolo, ma del primitivo edificio non resta che la parte inferiore della facciata scandita da cinque archeggiature impostate su semicolonne. I capitelli sono scolpiti con facce umane, fogliami e lateralmente sono di tipo ungulato. Il portale si apre nell'arcata di centro nel cui archivolto spicca una lunetta sagomata all'interno recante scolpita la croce dei Cavalieri di Gerusalemme. I vari elementi decorativi della facciata sono di derivazione pisano-lucchese, ma rielaborati e reinterpretati da maestranze locali.

The church was originally dedicated to St. John and belonged to the order of the Knights of Jerusalem. It dates back to the beginning of the thirteenth century, but the only part of the primitive building still standing today is the lower section of the facade which is marked by five bowed arches set on semi-columns. The capitals are sculpted with human faces and foliage, while on the sides they are clawed. The portal opens out from the central arch, and set inside its archivolt a moulded lunette stands out, bearing the sculpted cross of the Knights of Jerusalem.
