Regarding 1860 Vote to Join the Constitutional Monarchy of Victor Emmanuel II. The referendum for the United Provinces of Central Italy (which included Tuscany and other central Italian regions) to join Victor Emmanuel's monarchy occurred on March 11, 1860; it seems that the date on this marker is referencing the court decision that certified this vote. That said, most sources say that Tuscany joined the Kingdom of Sardinia on March 22. Victor Emmanuel's realm was renamed the Kingdom of Italy in 1861, to reflect the new extent of the kingdom.

Excerpt: "[Ferdinand] was succeeded in 1824 by his son Leopold III (1797-1870), who promulgated in 1848 a constitution suppressed in 1852, and was expelled by his subjects in 1859. The preliminary treaty of Villafranca of July 1859 between France and Austria provided for his return, but the city of Florence rejected it. A referendum on March 11, 1860 gave a 95% vote in favor of union with Piedmont-Sardinia, which became effective by a March 22, 1860, notwithstanding Leopold III's official protest..."(Submitted on August 28, 2025, by Sean P.
