1. Lewis & Clark Wildlife Management Area Marker

Inscription. Good hunting and variable weather greeted the expedition. Hard frost and a cold, clear morning gave way to clouds and a rising wind by afternoon, Clark reported "an emence number of Elk & Buffalow, also Dear, Antelopes Geese Ducks & a few Swan." He killed a buffalo and 4 deer, and others added 3 deer, 2 beaver, and 4 buffalo calves. The Muddy Creek. (sic) Lewis described it as a "boald stream of sixty yards wide...deep and navigable: above the bottomlands, but he "did not discover one tree or bush or any description on it's border."
