Der schlesisch-preußische Baumeister (ab 1788 Direktor des Oberhofbauamtes in Berlin) zählt zu den Wegbereitern des Klassizismus in Deutschland. Er verband antike Elemente mit barocken und klassizistischen Formen. Mit seinen zahlreichen Werken prägte er den Baustil seiner Zeit.
Carl Gotthard Langhans (December 15, 1732 - October 1, 1808) lived in a predecessor of this building for 20 years until shortly before his death.
Architect of the Brandenburg Gate
The Silesian-Prussian architect (director of the Supreme Court Building Office in Berlin from 1788) is considered one of the pioneers of Classicism in Germany. He combined ancient elements with Baroque and Neoclassical forms. With his numerous works, he shaped the architectural style of his time.
