Inscription. Small hotel rooms provided lodging along the north and south sides of the adobe during the days of stagecoaches and in later years, during the Vail Ranch days, cowboys stayed in the former hotel rooms. One room is furnished as it may have looked in the 1870s when Samuel Hackett delivered mail from San Diego and stayed here each Monday, Wednesday and Friday night.
