Inscription. General Manager who reshaped the Mets from lovable losers into World Champions…recruited Gil Hodges to Manage the Club and engineered the acquisitions of Tommie Agee and Donn Clendenon, keys to the 1969 World Series title…the team developed pitchers Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman and Nolan Ryan during his tenure…a native New Yorker, he pitched on seven World Series Championship teams.
