Inscription. The Gold Glove Center Fielder is best remembered for his two spectacular catches in game three of the 1969 World Series that saved a combined five runs…he also led off that game with a home run…hit the longest home run in Shea Stadium history on April 10, 1969, the only ball ever to be hit into the upper deck in fair territory.
