Inscription. His acquisition for the 1985 season provided the final piece for the Mets championship the following year…the veteran catcher belted two home runs in a crucial victory in game four of the World Series and ignited the 10th inning rally in game six…finished his career with 324 home runs…an 11-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner…inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.
