Inscription. His eye for talent and leadership helped revitalize a franchise that had finished in last place for three consecutive seasons… from 1984-1990, the Mets averaged more than 95 victories each year and won a World Series championship in 1986 with a record 108 wins…won 100 games and another division title two years later…drafted a future All-Star Darryl Strawberry and traded for Keith Hernandez and Gary Carter.
