Inscription. His signature "Put it in the books" emphasizes Mets wins, the native New Yorker began hosting pre- and post-game shows on Mets radio in 1987. The play-by-play voice of the Mets starting in 1996, he moved to the radio booth from television in 2004. Currently serves as the primary emcee for signature Mets on-field ceremonies.
