1. Temperance Hall / Sala Templanza Marker

Temperance Hall
The International Order of Good Templars (I.O.G.T.) built the Temperance Hall in 1887. In May of 1893, Knowersville's first fire department was formed. For $25 a year, the new department rented meeting space and room for its first hose cart on the first floor of Temperance Hall. The Noah Lodge of the F. & A.M. purchased the Hall in 1895 and used the second floor as the Lodge’s meeting rooms until 1913. In December of 1914, the S. Wood & Son Bakery on Prospect Avenue burned. Within days the owners purchased the old Masonic Hall and reopened the bakery on this site. In October 1917, the bakery was wired for electricity, replacing the kerosene lamps. Mr. Charles Wood died in July 1925 and the bakery closed. The building is now residential.

En pocos días sus dueños habían comprado la antigua Sala Masónica y abrió de nuevo la panadería en este sitio.
