This Georgian-style house, built circa 1825-1828, has been the home of three governors.
Charles Anderson Wickliffe (1788-1869),
His son, Robert C. Wickliffe (1819-1895)
and his grandson,
John Crepps Wickham Beckham (1869-1940).
Charles Anderson Wickliffe, a vigorous supporter of the War of 1812, also served as aide-de-camp to two American generals.
