This land had been continuously owned by the same family since it was acquired by Garrit Storm as an apple orchard in the 1860s. In 1906, his descendants, the Nickerson family, arranged for the construction of a six-story office building which was enlarged in 1926 and modernized in 1984. The family retained ownership of the land and in 2017 leased the property to Brookfield Partners and the Swig Company, which redeveloped the building in 2021.
