1. The Arcade & Attica Station Marker
Inscription. When a railroad first came to downtown in 1882, its station was located in the frame building diagonally across the street, with its platform next to the tracks. The railroad later purchased this former home, made modifications, and added to the west side to create the present station. The rail line has been the Arcade and Attica since 1917, and hundreds of thousands of people have passed through the station since passenger excursions began in 1962.

Early passengers waited on the platform across the street. The present station is in the background.
