1. Old Spaulding School Marker
Inscription. Spaulding School was a small country school house built on the land of pioneer farmer Shepard Spaulding located within Hanover Township (41N 009 E SW1/4 of Section 29) sometime around 1886. The land was part of 160 acres purchased under a land patent dated July 10, 1844. Spaulding purchased an additional 80 acres adjacent to section 29 in 1845. The former site of the school would provide education for area children until the mid 1950's before being torn down. The former school location once stood on the current 3rd hole fairway of a local golf course.
 
Erected 2024 by Hanover Township Heritage Marker Program.
