1. Back-to-Back Postseasons 2017 & 2018 Marker

The Rockies earned a spot in the 2017 postseason by securing the second National League Wild Card. Under the leadership of new manager Bud Black, the club finished with an 87-75 record. All-Stars Nolan Arenado and Charlie Blackmon along with shortstop Trevor Story were joined by a young pitching staff, including Kyle Freeland, Jon Gray, Germán Márquez and Antonio Senzatela to fuel the run into October. In a high-scoring Wild Card game, the Rockies fell at Arizona, but not before setting a strong foundation for future success.

In fact, the club returned to the playoffs the following year with the same nucleus of players, marking the first time in franchise history the Rockies achieved back-to-back postseason appearances. The Rockies came within one game of their first division title, losing to the Dodgers in the division tiebreaker game in Los Angeles. A day after game 163 in LA, the Rockies battled the Cubs in the Wild Card game, an epic affair they won 2-1, in 13 innings on a clutch hit by catcher Tony Wolters, with pitcher Scott Oberg closing out the cubs. but at 91-72, the 2018 Rockies posted the club's second-best record (best: 2009, 92-70).

The Rockies became the first team since the 1922 Philadelphia Phillies to play in four cities against four teams in five days, including the 162nd game of the regular season, NL West tiebreaker, NLWC Game and NLDS Game 1.
