Governor's House - built in 1721 by E.W. Diterich. Former governor's residence, from 1808 the city court. A copy of the facade from the site at the corner of Königstrasse/Judengasse was added in 1963/1964 to replace the Dutch Palace, which was destroyed in the war.
Today, the Humboldt University Institute building. 1994: Renovation of the facade with financial support from the Johann Wolfgang Langguth Foundation, Traben-Trarbach/Mosel.

Completed in 1721, the building was designed by Friedrich Wilhelm Diterichs and Martin Heinrich Böhme (1676–1725) at Königstraße 19 (now Rathausstraße)/Jüdenstraße. It was demolished in 1960 and rebuilt in 1963/64 by Fritz Meinhardt, using original facade elements, on the site of the Dutch Palace, which had been destroyed in World War II. Instead of the gateway, the open staircase of the previous building was retained. A narrow central projection with a balcony and large cartouche emphasizes the three-story plastered facade, which was renovated in 1994. The building served as the governor's residence from 1732 onwards, and as the city court from 1808 onwards. After its reconstruction, it housed institutes of the Humboldt University of Berlin...(Submitted on September 12, 2025.)
