Regarding John R Smith Butcher Shop 1875. John Smith erected this building in 1877, and operated his butcher shop from the first floor; the upper floors were used as a boarding house. The later one-storey addition to the west was probably a grocery. The Smith family owned the building until 1914. A hair salon now occupies the ground floor.
