Photo faces south-west. The boat shed is roughly 60x25 metres. The largest of these boats, for 8 rowers, approaches 20 metres in length.

in the 1950s and 1960s, these men worked to secure the future of the Martindale Pond rowing complex, in part by purchasing and developing Read Island (now named Henley Island) into a base for housing rowing boats and other equipment.
