Regarding Jacob Ball U.E.L. circa 1824. This is one of the oldest buildings in Ontario. The land was granted to loyalist George Ball in 1796. The house was built around 1824. For a time from 1843, the lockmaster (overseeing the work of 17 locktenders) lived here.
