Regarding Carnegie Library 1912. Andrew Carnegie made his millions in the 19th century steel industry, then later in life, gave out gifts for 2500 communities to build libraries, to promote literacy. Thorold received $10,000 in 1902, and opened this building to the public in 1912. Thorold Library moved to a new building in 1983. This building is current a multi-tenant office building.
