Founded in 1907, most of the original church structure was destroyed by fire in 1927. The current brick building was completed later that year and formally dedicated in 1928. St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church was designated a Pittsburgh Historic Landmark in 2003, becoming the first building in West View is receive the distinguished award.
