Regarding Carnegie Library 1910. Andrew Carnegie made his millions in the 19th century steel industry, then later in life, gave out gifts for 2500 communities to build libraries, to promote literacy. When Niagara Falls opened this library in 1910, residents donated 8,000 books to add to its existing collection. After the library moved to a new building in 1974, it has been used as a multi-tenant office building, often for non-profit groups.
