Maj Joseph A. Bishop
United States Army
Killed in the service of his country on 19 September 1968 in the republic of Vietnam.
Without regard for his own safety, he participated in numerous operations in hostile territory in support of combat ground forces.

A soldier, teacher, athlete, husband and father, whose dedication, love of country and professional competence were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service.

Posthumously awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and Air Medal.

Born 11 January 1935 Atlanta, Georgia
