1. Restoration Marker

Inscription. Horizon Hill was originally three stories, boasting five bedrooms, two parlors, a large dining room, and a ballroom. After a storm damaged the home in the 1920s, the third floor was converted into an attic, and the roof line was lowered.

For nearly 50 years the home was virtually unrecognizable as the grand mansion it had been. The State of Oklahoma acquired the house in 1965 and began extensive restoration to bring the home back to its original grandeur.

While the ballroom was not rebuilt, the roof has been returned to its original appearance.
