Inscription.
This Chair of Honor will remain unoccupied and will stand in the place of remembrance until we attain the fullest possible accounting for all of our missing POW and MIA heroes.

You Will Not Be Forgotten
The National League of Families POW/MIA flag was adopted in 1972 and features a silhouette of a POW before a guard tower and barbed wire in white on a black field.

The POW/MIA flag serves as a reminder to all of the American heroes whose fates are unknown and as a symbol of our Nation's commitment to ending the uncertainty for the families of U.S. personnel who remain unaccounted for.

September 17 is National POW/MIA Recognition Day, a day designated for remembering the debt we owe to these Veterans and their families.

We will honor our Nation's prisoners of war and those still missing in action every day, and will continually keep faith with our country's promise to bring all of our heroes home.
