Regarding Memorial to World Wars I and II. Laverne Perrottet, listed among Wheaton's dead in World War I, was the son of Arthur Perrottet, who served as Wheaton's mayor from 1915 until 1917. LaVerne Perrottet was killed at the Battle of Belleau Wood. He is buried at Wheaton Cemetery.

3. Stuart R. Murray (1895-1918)
Stuart Murray of Wheaton was a member of Battery B, 149th Field Artillery in World War I. He was killed at Bulson, France, on the morning of the Armistice, November 11, 1918. Originally buried in France, his body was reinterred at Wheaton Cemetery. His photo is preserved by the Chicago History Museum's file of photographs of Chicago-area service members who died in World War I.
