1. Southeast Corner of Montana on the South Dakota State Boundary Marker

Inscription. This position was established by Daniel C. Major, U.S. Surveyor, in 1885. Major surveyed from the north and disregarded the position of the Wyoming Corner 3/4 mile west of this location set by Rollin Reeves 8 years earlier. The original monument was replaced by this quartzite monolith on October 26, 1904, by Frame S. Feck, USA Surveyor The US. BLM Cadastral Survey and Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota Surveying Societies coordinated the preservation of this monument in 1993.
