1. North Main Street Historic District Marker
The residential neighborhood surrounding North Main Street has over a dozen homes in varying architectural styles built during the historical development period of 1845 to 1930. Two homes are of particular note. A two-story domestic residence that dates to 1908 sits at 624 North Main Street. This building was constructed in the Carpenter-Builder (Queen Anne) style and reflects how the industrial growth of the city was shown in its architectural development with a large house not typical of the area. Another two-story residence at 703 North Main Street dates back to 1890. Also constructed in the Carpenter-Builder (Queen Anne) style, it remains largely unaltered and is notable because of its unique architecture. Because of the number of historic homes in this area, it has been recommended this area be defied as a historic district in the future.
