1. The Waterfowling Building Marker
Inscription.
This building was erected in 1975 in memory of Willard G. Rouse, one of the Museum's staunchest supporters. Its design combines three Eastern Shore structures. The main wing on the left is copied from the Taylor's Island Chapel of Ease, built in 1680. The central section copies a wing of the "House of Hinges," an 18th century brick house in East New Market, Dorchester County. The right wing is modeled after typical local kitchen wings. The three siding styles—clapboard, shiplap and board and batten -- are typical of the Eastern Shore.
