The inscription on the stone reads "Harvey Mitchell Hall; R.T. Milner, President; Directors: Walton Peteet, President; J.L. Guion, J.A. Kyle, L.J. Hart, Charles Davis, R.L. Bennett, D.W. Kempner, Ed R. Kone; 1912 Texas Building Co., Builders; F.E. Giesecke, Archt."

The other side of the stone reads "Harvey Mitchell Hall; This stone was laid June 3d 2912 by the M.W. Grand Lodge A.F. and A.M. of Texas, in memory of Harvey Mitchell, first master, Brazos Union Lodge No. 129 and largely instrumental in locating the A. and M. College."
