1. The Twelfth Man Marker
Inscription. On January 2, 1922, Texas A&M played Centre College in the Dixie Classic in Dallas. After numerous injuries to the Aggie team, Coach Dana C. Bible called E. King Gill '24 from the stands. Gill, a basketball player and former football team member, suited up. He never entered the game, but his willingness to support the team provided inspiration for victory. The strong support of Aggies for their teams keeps alive that special part of the Aggie Spirit known as the Twelfth Man tradition.
