1. Anderson House Marker
Inscription. Built for Sergeant James Anderson, this hipped-roof building is probably the oldest surviving structure in St. John's and the oldest house in Newfoundland. It is a good example of 18th and early 19th century vernacular house forms. Its early occupants included members of the military garrison who stabled their horses on the ground floor of the now-demolished eastern end of the structure
