Inscription.
Between 1909 and 1911, the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad constructed 64 railroad cottages in downtown Las Vegas to house railroad workers and their families.

The cottages came in four- and five-room floor plans, and rented for about $18 per month. The homes also came in different colors and were constructed from concrete bricks. The bricks insulated the cottages from the desert's extreme high and low temperatures.

The four cottages you see here were relocated to the Springs Preserve and restored to their original condition. Step inside this cottage to see what housing was like for early Las Vegas families.
