1. Western Union Operator's House Marker
Inscription. This structure-once home to cable-operator Edgar Hopkins - is one of eight houses commissioned by the Western Union Telegraph Company after taking over transatlantic cable operations in 1912. Built by Carbonear-based Saunders and Howell, these residences introduced several Victorian design elements to the community.
