3. "The Gateway of American Heroes"
Two steel beams from the World Trade Center site mark the entrance to the memorial area. Two memorial plaques are found near the entrance. One, installed on the 10th anniversary, reads "The Gateway of American Heroes," and the other, installed on the 20th anniversary, reads "Never Forget. Dedicated to the lives lost then and since on this 20th anniversary."

4. World Trade Center Steel
A dedication marker. It reads: "These two steel I-beams were recovered from 2 WTCthe South Tower at Ground Zero and donated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to the Village of East Rockaway. Dedicated to honor and remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001"
