Bunkers Cove in Panama City in Bay County, Florida — The American South (South Atlantic)
800 Cherry Street
Built 1936
This house was built in 1936 by contractor O. W. Osment for Harry S. Cressler. Cressler and his family lived in the house until August 1938. At that time the home was sold to the First Methodist Episcopal Church South to be used as a parsonage. After only a few months the minister and his wife decided the home was too far away from the church at Magnolia Avenue and 4th Street. They moved back into the parsonage at 839 Oak Avenue. The church sold the property in March 1939 to the A. N. Smith family who lived there until April 1966. The Theodore Brannen family bought the house that same month and lived there until 1990. The present owners of the home, Cliff and Jane Fleming, bought the house in September 1994 and continue to live here today (2014).
