1. Civitan Park Bridge Marker
Inscription. Constructed in the late 1800’s, this bridge was originally built across the Little Cahaba Creek as part of the Birmingham - to - Gadsden Highway. Jefferson County later moved the bridge to Ketona and in 1940 again dismantled it and moved it to Happy Hollow Road. There the steel one-lane bridge was used until 1969. When cars met at the bridge, the first one to arrive had the right-of-way. The old bridge remained parallel to the new bridge until the Trussville Civitan Club negotiated with Jefferson County to give the bridge to the City of Trussville and in October of 1984 the bridge was moved to its present home in the Civitan Park.
