1. Smith & Wade Building Marker
Inscription. The earliest building on this site sold “agricultural implements” according to an 1869 newspaper. Reuben Boise bought it in 1890 and sold it to his daughter, Mae Lauterman in 1910. By the mid-1920s, one half of the building was a wholesale cigar store, with the other half occupied by the “Gospel Mission”. The Lauterman family retained an interest in this property until 1962.
