1. Gary Leasure Marker
Inscription. Gary Leasure gives freely of himself. As a private employer, he maintains his growing business but also sets aside time to work on charitable and community projects. He has been recognized for his contribution to the growth of the Grove City community not only as an employer but also as a public servant. A former mayor of Zanesville, Ohio, Gary capitalized on that experience to the benefit of his new community. He joined the local Chamber of Commerce and served in numerous capacities, including fundraising. He held several leadership roles in that organization including a term as president. Elected to the South-Western City School Board, he served several terms as president. Gary accepted the challenge with the school district keeping in mind the issues facing children and staff. He also assumed the challenging tasks as chair of levy and bond issues campaigns. Working to support the schools was important but he also volunteered time on the Grove City Planning Commission. Gary gives not only financial support to community projects, he gives something even more important, his time.
