Friedrich Leyden (born Friedrich Levy on March 3, 1891 in Freiburg im Breisgau; died January 30, 1944 in the Theresienstadt ghetto) was a German geographer and diplomat in the Weimar Republic.(Submitted on October 25, 2025.)
After the Nazis seized power in 1933, he was removed from civil service in February. Leyden moved to the Netherlands, where he continued his academic work as a private scholar under adverse conditions and now published in Dutch. After the German occupation of the Netherlands in 1940, Leyden was persecuted as a Jew and deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto in April 1943
