1. Bishop's Residence Marker
From 1859 to 1864 John Baptist Miege S. J., Bishop of the Indian Lands, built the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Leavenworth. It burned in 1961. The parish was founded August 15, 1855.
In 1863, Bishop Miege built the Bishop's Residence and Chancery Office. The upper floors were used as a residence and school for training young priests.
Erected 1974 by Leavenworth Historical Society.
