The Shreveport Convention Center is the second largest exhibition space in the state. It has 350,000 square feet of space and offers photographic views of the Red River and downtown Shreveport. It is for that reason that director Bruce Evans chose to build the office set, for the character of Earl Brooks, in the second floor corridor. In Evans' film Mr. Brooks the main character, Earl Brooks, played by Kevin Costner, is a well respected businessman in Portland, Oregon who has another side to him, that of a serial killer. Since the story takes place in Portland but was filmed in Shreveport it was imperative to Evans that the skyline be seen out of Earl's office windows, giving the illusion of the large city.
