1. Princess Theater Marker
Inscription. James Simpson constructed this building in 1922 for the town theatre. Prior to this time, movies were shown in the Town Hall located on Donnelly Street. At the time of its construction, the building had a simpler facade. In the late 1920s, the projector caught fire in the middle of the night and damaged the shops and the theatre front. The theatre and the two side buildings were repaired and renovated with the Mediterranean Revival-style facade we see today.
