1. The Georgian Hotel Marker
Inscription. The Georgian Hotel was built in 1931 from a plan by local architect M. Eugene Durfee in a Romanesque Revival stylistic elements also attributed to the Art Deco design of the Sunset Tower Building on Fourth Street. The Georgian Hotel was built by the Windermere Hotel Corporation. J.H. Boede, President of the corporation, was general manager. The hotel is representative of Santa Monica's long history of distinctive resort hotels along Ocean Avenue.
