1. Carnegie Library Marker

Inscription. The Carnegie Library was constructed in 1906 in the Beaux Arts style. It exhibits classic features including a rusticated basement level constructed of large stone. The main floor, which is constructed of brick, is divided near the top by a running frieze, creating the appearance of a third level, or attic. The most interesting feature is the main entrance which illustrates the architectural plasticity of the beaux arts style. Brick simulated pilasters create a porch-like entrance which is topped with a circular arch, branching from the running frieze.
